During early pharmaceutical development it may be that several candidates needed to be screened for different properties. Also, it may be that a large number of different solutions with varying compositions needed to be tested. At SOLVE we screen using various techniques at our disposal. One of the most suitable techniques, for reasons of time and sample volumes, is DLS in a high-throughput plate format. We also advise that such tests are conducted according to Design of Experiments (DoE) to fit well with the Quality by Design (QbD) approach, which is often recommended. It may be worthwhile to further characterize hit candidates or conditions using methodologies such as SEC-MALS, AF4-MALS or AUC to validate the results from the screening as a second step after the screenings.
